[Latest News] WTE's Chairwomen Named Among Asia’s Top 50 Women Tech Leaders 2025

The ASIA WOMEN TECH LEADERS AWARD seeks to recognize 50 accomplished women technologists working and based in Asia. This award is focused on inspiring women who make the tech happen. They are deep into the research and development of emerging and nascent technologies and tasked with managing and operationalising tech projects. They are also adept at managing complex tech projects, demonstrating their leadership and operational skills.

And this year, we are so proud that our chairwomen - Ms. Quyen Nguyen, was honored to be named among Asia's Top 50 Women Tech Leaders 2025. Let’s take a moment to hear some of her reflections upon receiving this prestigious recognition.

From Fruit-Laden Boats in the Mekong Delta to Asia’s Top 50 Women Tech Leaders

Growing up in a small village in Ben Tre, nestled in the heart of Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. I started my mornings before sunrise, helping my mother harvest fruit, take a boat for hours to the local market and then I would hurry to school, still smelling of mangoes and longans, with hands rough from work but a heart full of dreams. Life was tough, but it gave me strength, purpose, and a deep respect for hard work.

Those early mornings on the boat weren’t just about survival — they were my first lessons in responsibility, discipline, and love. My mother never complained. She simply worked, and in her silent strength, she gave me the courage to imagine a different future.

As one of the few female founder in Vietnam's tech sector, I faced challenges, cultural barriers, and moments of deep uncertainty. But I never forgot the river, the fruit, or my mother’s hands. They reminded me why I started — to build something bigger than myself, to show that even a girl from the boats of Ben Tre could help shape the future of technology.

Today, I am deeply honored to be named among Asia’s Top 50 Women Tech Leaders 2025 at Asia Women Tech Leaders Award to be held in Marina Bay Sands Meetings Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

This recognition is more than an achievement — it’s a reminder that no dream is too far when you carry purpose, passion, and persistence.Especially on this occasion,alongside the 50 years anniversary of reunification day of Vietnam, this recognition is also a source of pride for my country. I am thrilled to bring my husband and my kids to Singapore to participate in the ceremony, proudly wearing our Vietnam 🇻🇳 flag shirts. Each step forward was a tribute to the sacrifices of my family, especially my mother, who taught me what resilience truly means.

My mother just passed away last year, and this award is my gift to her. This is not the end of my journey. It’s just another beginning. And I carry the Mekong with me, in my heart, in my work, and in the way I lead.
